Privacy policy

This policy explains how Day.new handles data in the web app and when you connect Day.new to an AI assistant through our MCP connector.

Data we collect

  • Account data, such as your email address, profile information, and authentication identifiers provided through Clerk.
  • Wellness data you choose to store, including meal descriptions, dates, nutrition estimates, itemized foods, goals, photos, notes, workouts, and connected-source records.
  • Connector inputs needed to complete a requested tool action. Day.new does not request or receive the rest of your ChatGPT or Claude conversation.
  • Limited technical data needed for security and reliability, such as request timing, error information, device or browser information, and IP address.

Day.new is a consumer wellness product, not a medical record system. Do not use it to store protected health information or information needed for emergency care.

How we use data

We use this data to authenticate you, save and retrieve your records, carry out actions you request, display your calendar and nutrition history, secure and troubleshoot the service, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal data or use meal records for advertising.

AI assistant connections

When you connect ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, or another MCP client, you authorize narrow permissions to read meals and log meals. The assistant sends Day.new only the tool name and fields required for the action. You can disconnect the connector from the assistant at any time.

Your use of an AI assistant is also governed by that provider's privacy policy. Review what you send to the assistant before asking it to save data in Day.new.

Service providers and disclosures

We share data only as needed with service providers that support authentication, hosting, databases, file storage, monitoring, and other core operations. They process data for us under their own contractual and security obligations. We may also disclose data when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate safeguards.

Payments

Stripe processes subscription payments and stores payment details entered at checkout. Day.new stores Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status, billing dates, and reply usage to manage access. We do not receive or store your full card number or security code. Meal descriptions, photos, goals, and health history are not sent to Stripe as payment metadata.

Retention

Account and wellness data is retained while your account is active. After a verified deletion request, we remove it from active systems within 30 days and from routine backups within 90 days, unless a longer period is required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or law. Security and operational logs are retained for no longer than 30 days unless they are needed to investigate a specific incident.

Your controls

You can review and edit meal records in Day.new, revoke an AI connector from the relevant assistant, and request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data. Start a request through Day.new support. We may verify your identity before completing a request.

Security and changes

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as Day.new changes. Material updates will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
